Book Clubs
Book clubs are always open to new participants!
Worried you can't come to every meeting? That's fine! Come when you can!
Didn't finish the book? No problem! Life is busy - you are still welcome to come hear what others have to say about the book.
If you have any questions about book groups, or you are interested in starting a new group, please email us townsendlibrary@cwmars.org
Current book clubs at the Townsend Public Library:
Cookbook Club:
With Cookbook Club, instead of bringing discussion questions, everyone brings a dish from the cookbook for a potluck.
We will talk, eat and share ideas!
Slackers Book Club:
Slackers is a monthly self-service book club and open to all readers!
WHEN: Whenever! There are no meetings to attend, no Zooms to join, no people to talk to, no questions to answer!
Maybe you'll love the book or maybe you'll hate it. You can leave a review on the bookmark when you return the book. Try it out!
Request a copy of this month's featured book by emailing townsendlibrary@cwmars.org or come in and pick one up!
Eclectic Book Club:
This is a book club for people who love to read everything and anything!
This is a hybrid program which you can attend in-person at the library or from home via Zoom.
Silent Book Club:
Do you love to read? This is a new and unique book club where you bring your own book and read each month.
At Silent Book Club, there's no assigned reading- it's BYOBook!
Here's how it works: Bring a book, have some coffee, tea and pastries, read for a while and then talk about what you're reading.
We will meet here at the library in the Trustee Conference Room on the second Tuesday of each month from 10:30-11:30 am.
Registration not required but greatly appreciated. Adults only please.

Teen Anime and Manga Club with Bradley:
Each month we'll be exploring a new series by reading the first three volumes and watching the first episode of its anime adaptation!
The first half of each meeting we'll talk about the manga series of the month as well as other series that we're reading and for the second half we'll see how it was adapted into its anime.
33 1/3 Music Book Club:
Join us for a book/music club where we'll be reading through books in the 33 1/3 book series.
Each of these books focus on a different popular and influential album by a variety of artists across different decades and genres.
Please listen to the album in its entirety on the platform of your choice if possible.
This is a hybrid program which you can attend in-person at the library or from home via Zoom.
Forever Young Book Club:
Forever Young is a book club for teens and all ages, reading a diverse selection of Young Adult fiction (geared for 13-18 year old readers).
We'll try something different every month— think the Eclectic Book Club with YA!
This is a hybrid program which you can attend in-person at the library or from home via Zoom.
Page Turners Book Club:
Page Turners graphic novel book club is recommended for ages 10-13.
Read the book and join Molly and Amelia for a fun discussion, and snacks!
Novel-Tea Book Club (virtual) & Novel-Tea Book Club for Seniors (in-person):
Every month we will pair a book and a tea sample for you to try!
This club is held in 2 sessions: in-person OR on Zoom.
Please email Cathy for more information: chill@cwmars.org
Magic Tree House Book Club:
Join Miss Jessie for a fun Magic Tree House Book Club for ages 6-8!
We will gather once a month to read the first few chapters of our selected Magic Tree House book by Mary Pope Osborne and do an activity.
You will then take a copy of the book in your special Magic Tree House Book Bag to finish at home, either by reading it independently, listening to the audiobook, or reading with a loved one!
When we meet up again the next time, we will discuss the finished book, do some activities and introduce the next book in the series.
A great way to get your child started on a new book series!
